Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child provides a Christmas gift for someone less fortunate than ourselves. It gives us the ability to show the love of Christ through a simple act of giving. All you have to do is decide if you want to fill a box for a boy or a girl and which age group. Then, fill the shoebox with a loving gift and send it on its way. Operation Christmas Child is a part Samaritans Purse, a non-denominational, evangelical Christian humanitarian organization that works worldwide to meet the spiritual and physical needs of people suffering from war, poverty, disaster, famine and prosecution. A quote from Franklyn Graham, "All over the world, a generation of young people have come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ - through the ministry of thousands of local churches that provide shoe box gifts and gospel materials from Operation Christmas Child." As Gods word says, "That your way may be known on earth, your salvation among all the nations." [psalm 67:2, NKJV] First Baptist Church of Delhi is one local church organizing donations. Aside from the gift boxes we will also be accepting cash donations to help cover the cost of getting them across the globe. It costs $7.00 per box for shipping, so anything you can give will help. Below is a file of how to pack a shoe box. Also a link to Samaritans Purse where you can get more information on this wonderful ministry.

O come let us sing unto the Lord. Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the Lord is a great God, and a great king above all gods. Psalm 95:1
The Sunshine Basket Ministry is an outreach of the First Baptist Church of Delhi. Baskets are filled with Bibles, literature, music cds, personal items, dvds, books, etc. They are distributed to those who are in need of encouragement due to grief or illness, or whatever the cause. It is an outreach to those in our church and community to witness the love of Jesus to those who receive them. Matthew 10:42 says, "and whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these little ones, even a cup of cold water to drink, truly I say he shall not lose his reward."
This ministry was born out of a hearts desire to reach out and serve those in need.
Esther Circle is a women's group that meets monthly. The main focus of this group is mission work. Local, national and international missions receive support from Esther Circle. We have fundraisers when needed to fund this mission work. Another focus of this group is on various remodeling jobs in the church. This women’s group is also credited with organizing the Fellowship Thanksgiving dinner, the Pairs and Spares Valentines Dinner as well as the arrangements for church family in times of joy and sorrow. Last, but certainly not least, we are a group of praying women.
A Layette being put together for someone in need
VBS was a raving success in 2016. Thank you to all the volunteers who worked so tirelessly to make it happen. I can't wait to see what next years theme is. Another chance to teach our children about Jesus.
